A demise

29th November 2004 - 10th May 2005

Dear Love,

You have left me today and you have taken a part with me with you into your shallow grave.

You were more than a friend. You were the unquestioning one, the one who had been there with me being your priority. All despite you having four legs, but a friend, you were (and will always be).

Your death forces me to think of my existence for you. Did I exist to provide you a safe passage through your shortened life? Or was your existence, to aid me through my most arduous moments, with love brimming from your eyes? You never utter a word, but, yes, I understand.

You curled on my lap, and I have let you, everytime. Such a simple gesture it was. You and your simple ways of braving the storms with me. I thank you for your simple ways.

Now I trace the scent of you in my sheets. I search for the feeling of your little head on my shoulder. I still remember your shallow breathing. And I will always remember your pleading eyes.

I am glad to have protected you from the day of your birth. And I am thankful for the happiness you bring, by just being yourself, and being there.

Rest in peace. You will be sorely missed by all.
